Create a new blog with Feather

You can just follow these simple steps to create a blog with Feather + Notion.

Step 1: Start the free trial and Login to Feather

1. If you are not on active trial or a customer yet, first you need to start the free trial.
2. After that, log in to your Feather account by going to feather.so/login.
3. Click on Create new blog button. Your onboarding wizard will start.

Step 2: Create Databases

1. Click on the Duplicate Databases button.
2. That will duplicate all the required databases to your Notion workspace.
3. Go to the Notion page that newly got created in the above step and make that notion page public.
4. Come back to the Feather dashboard to continue the onboarding process.
5. Click on Next to go to the Field Mapping step.

Step 3: Field Mapping

There you will see 4 tabs – Content, Pages, Tags, and Authors.

Content

1. Copy the Notion page URL of the Content database.
2. Enter the copied Notion URL of the Content database in the Content Tab and click on Connect Database.
3. Then click Next to go to the Pages tab.

Pages

1. Copy the Notion page URL of the Pages database.
2. Enter the copied Notion URL of the Pages database in the Pages Tab and click on Connect Database.
3. Then click Next to go to the Tags tab.

Tags

1. Copy the Notion page URL of the Tags database.
2. Enter the copied Notion URL of the Tags database in the Tags Tab and click on Connect Database.
3. Then click Next to go to the Authors tab.

Authors

1. Copy the Notion page URL of the Authors database.
2. Enter the copied Notion URL of the Authors database in the Authors Tab and click on Connect Database.
3. Then click Next to go to the Select Subdomain step.

Step 4: Select Subdomain

1. Choose and enter the name of your blog. You can change this later in the settings if you want to.
2. Select a feather.blog subdomain. For example, if you choose bhanu as the subdomain, then your blog will be created at bhanu.feather.blog.
3. You can connect your actual domain later in the settings.
