Introduction
Create a new blog with Feather
You can just follow these simple steps to create a blog with Feather + Notion.
Step 1: Start the free trial and Login to Feather
- If you are not on active trial or a customer yet, first you need to start the free trial.
- After that, log in to your Feather account by going to feather.so/login.
- Click on Create new blog button. Your onboarding wizard will start.
Step 2: Create Databases
- Click on the Duplicate Databases button.
- That will duplicate all the required databases to your Notion workspace.
- Go to the Notion page that newly got created in the above step and make that notion page public.
- Come back to the Feather dashboard to continue the onboarding process.
- Click on Next to go to the Field Mapping step.
Step 3: Field Mapping
There you will see 4 tabs – Content, Pages, Tags, and Authors.
Content
- Copy the Notion page URL of the Content database.
- Enter the copied Notion URL of the Content database in the Content Tab and click on Connect Database.
- Then click Next to go to the Pages tab.
Pages
- Copy the Notion page URL of the Pages database.
- Enter the copied Notion URL of the Pages database in the Pages Tab and click on Connect Database.
- Then click Next to go to the Tags tab.
Tags
- Copy the Notion page URL of the Tags database.
- Enter the copied Notion URL of the Tags database in the Tags Tab and click on Connect Database.
- Then click Next to go to the Authors tab.
Authors
- Copy the Notion page URL of the Authors database.
- Enter the copied Notion URL of the Authors database in the Authors Tab and click on Connect Database.
- Then click Next to go to the Select Subdomain step.
Step 4: Select Subdomain
- Choose and enter the name of your blog. You can change this later in the settings if you want to.
- Select a feather.blog subdomain. For example, if you choose bhanu as the subdomain, then your blog will be created at bhanu.feather.blog.
- You can connect your actual domain later in the settings.
