Core Concepts
Pages Database in Feather
All your pages that are not pages can be added and edited from the Pages database.
For example, every website usually has an About page or Contact Us page, you can add those kinds of pages to the Pages database.
These kinds of pages are not exactly articles. They don’t have any relation to tags or authors. They can exist on their own.
Pages Database Properties
If you have duplicated the default Feather’s Notion template, you will find these properties inside the Pages database.
1. Name
This is the title of your page.
You should know!
This name will also be automatically set as the meta title of your page for SEO.
2. Publish
This is a checkbox property and it determines whether the page is in draft mode or not.
If Publish is unchecked, then that means the page is in draft mode and will not be published to your blog.
3. Slug
This determines the URL of your page.
For example, if the slug of a page is set as contact-us and your blog is at mydomain.com, then the URL of this page will be mydomain.com/contact-us
You should know!
If the slug is empty or unset, then the slug will be automatically generated based on the title of the page. But it’s always recommended to set the slug whenever possible.
4. Excerpt
This is a short description of what your page is about.
You should know!
This will also be automatically set as the meta description of your page for SEO.
5. Cover
This is the cover image of your page.
You should know!
This will also be automatically set as the Open Graph Image (og:image) of your page.
So, when your page is shared on social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc, it will show this cover image automatically without you doing anything extra.
6. Last Edited Time
This is the last edited time of the page. This is automatically tracked by Notion using the Last Edited Time property type.
