Core Concepts
Databases in Feather
At the core, Feather is a blogging platform built on top of Notion. It uses your own Notion workspace as a CMS for your blog.
Notion Databases
Notion has this concept called databases. These will become the base of your Feather blog. If you don’t know what databases are, read this.
In short, think of databases as a spreadsheet table. Each row in the table is a new item. Each item has multiple columns representing different properties related to that item.
To take full advantage of Feather, you need four different Notion databases.
- Content Database
- Pages Database
- Tags Database
- Authors Database
Content Database
This is the main database. This is where you write all your articles.
Pages Database
These contain pages that are not articles like 'About me' page, 'Contact us' page, etc.
Tags Database
You can organize your articles based on various tags that are present in this database.
Authors Database
You can assign various authors present in this database to your articles.
