Authors Database in Feather

You can assign various authors to your blog posts. This Authors database is useful for that.

Authors Database Properties

If you have duplicated the default Feather’s Notion template, you will find these properties inside the Authors database.

1. Name

This is the title of your author.

You should know!

This name will also be automatically set as the meta title of your author page for SEO.

2. Publish

This is a checkbox property and it determines whether the author is in draft mode or not.

If Publish is unchecked, then that means the author is in draft mode and will not be published to your blog.

3. Slug

This determines the URL of your author.

For example, if the slug of a author is set as bhanu and your blog is at mydomain.com, then the URL of this author will be mydomain.com/bhanu

You should know!

If the slug is empty or unset, then the slug will be automatically generated based on the title of the author. But it’s always recommended to set the slug whenever possible.

4. Description

This is a short bio of the author.

You should know!

This will also be automatically set as the meta description of your author page for SEO.

5. Cover

This is the cover image of your author page.

You should know!

This will also be automatically set as the Open Graph Image (og:image) of your author page.

So, when your author is shared on social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc, it will show this cover image automatically without you doing anything extra.

6. Last Edited Time

This is the last edited time of the author. This is automatically tracked by Notion using the Last Edited Time property type.

7. Photo

This is the photo/avatar of the author.

8. Twitter

This is the link to the Twitter profile of the author. This will be shown on the author's page.

9. LinkedIn

This is the link to the LinkedIn profile of the author. This will be shown on the author's page.

10. Instagram

This is the link to the Instagram profile of the author. This will be shown on the author's page.

11. Facebook

This is the link to the Facebook profile of the author. This will be shown on the author's page.

12. YouTube

This is the link to the YouTube channel of the author. This will be shown on the author's page.
