The blogging feature for our website is currently still in Beta, and we are constantly working on improvements to make it even more powerful. We designed this feature to enable our users to easily publish high-quality posts.
These posts should serve as valuable resources for their audience, helping to establish credibility, build relationships, and drive lead generation efforts. By providing a platform for its users to create and share engaging content, we aim to empower businesses to enhance their online presence and attract potential customers through valuable blog posts.
Monetization with Google Adsense
The blogging feature offered by Leadpages also supports Google Adsense for Bloggers or businesses who wish to monetize their blog through ads. This means that users can generate revenue by displaying targeted advertisements on their blogs. The integration of Google Adsense offers an additional avenue for businesses to profit from their content and attract more visitors to their site.
Leadpages Sites As A Blogging Platform
Leadpages is a powerful website builder that offers a variety of features tailored to help solopreneurs and small businesses generate leads and increase conversions. Although it is primarily a conversion platform, Leadpages offers a user-friendly blogging platform that allows users to share their thought leadership effortlessly.
Streamlining Blog Creation
The platform doesn’t require the same level of backend management and security that other CMS platforms like WordPress do, making it an ideal option for those looking to quickly get a blog up and running without the hassle.
User-Friendly Website Building
The website builder is designed to be user-friendly, allowing users to create mobile-responsive websites quickly and easily. Powered by the Google Cloud, sites built on Leadpages are fast and optimized for mobile by default.
Optimizing Mobile Performance
This means that users don’t have to worry about installing additional software or doing backend coding to ensure that their blog performs well on mobile devices. Leadpages provides a straightforward solution for those looking to share their content and expertise with the world without the added complexity of managing a full CMS.
Leadpages offers three primary blogging options for its customers, each with its own set of benefits and target audiences.
Leadpages only
This option is perfect if you're looking to create a complete web presence on Leadpages, including your blog. By publishing your domain on Leadpages, you get to enjoy a full range of flexibility in the way you shape your blog. You can create high-impact, signature articles throughout the year, and specify the importance of each article based on its topic, rather than its chronology.
Leadpages with WordPress
If you're just starting your business or transitioning online and plan on writing 2-3 articles per month, this is the best choice for you. You'll use your Leadpages site for the front end (yourdomain.com) and WordPress for the blog on a subdomain (blog.yourdomain.com).
This choice requires you to work with a third-party hosting company for your WordPress installation. Within WordPress, you can link back to the pages on your Leadpages site through the navigation menu. This way, you can create a content gallery page on your Leadpages site and link each post preview to individual posts on WordPress.
WordPress with Leadpages
This option is ideal if you already have an existing WordPress site and a team to help you manage it. You'll use WordPress for the front-end blog and incorporate a Leadpages Site and landing pages for specific promotions, such as a book launch, live event, or new program.
With your WordPress installation on a third-party web host, you can connect your Leadpages Site to a subdomain (or alternate domain) using your domain registrar or web host's control panel. Much like the previous option, a content gallery page on your Leadpages site offers you more control over what visitors see, regardless of your posts' publishing dates.
How To Create Your Blog With Leadpages
Adding a Blog to Your Leadpages Website
To create a blog on Leadpages, start by navigating to the 'Pages' tab on the left sidebar of your Leadpages dashboard. Then, click on the '+' sign and select 'Blog'. Here, you'll be prompted to choose whether you want to create a new blog or connect an existing one. Give your blog a name, choose a page name for navigation, and set a slug for the homepage. Click 'Save' to move to the next step.
Customize Your Feed Styles
Once your blog is created, two blog templates will be added to your site. The first one is the page you previously named when connecting the blog to your site. This template is where you can style your post feed. Click anywhere on the feed page to open the feed widget and choose which post details you want to display or hide.
Writing Blog Posts
After customizing your feed styles, it's time to start writing blog posts. To create a new blog post, select 'Manage Posts' from the blog feed or post widget settings in the site builder where your blog is connected. Alternatively, navigate to 'Blogs' and then 'Posts' from your Leadpages navigation menu. Here, you can craft your blog content, set featured images, manage SEO data, and publish or schedule your posts.
The Downsides Of Creating A Blog With Leadpages
Creating a Full-Blown Blog
Leadpages excels at targeted landing pages, not long-form content creation. The platform is designed with specific marketing objectives in mind—capturing leads, increasing conversions, etc.
This means that while Leadpages provides an effective solution for specific marketing goals, it may not be the best choice for extensive blog content creation. For bloggers who want to create in-depth, long-form content, it's crucial to consider whether Leadpages is the right tool for the job.
Limited Design Capabilities
Leadpages offers beautiful templates, but design tweaks have their limits. Think polished framework, not a blank canvas. While it's possible to customize colors, fonts, and images within those templates, there are limitations to what you can do.
That's what makes Leadpages so good: the design standards are high, and it's nearly impossible to create a poorly designed landing page. But if you're looking for a platform with extensive design capabilities, Leadpages might not be the best choice.
Plan Restrictions
If you’re starting with a very limited budget, Leadpages’ subscription cost might be a barrier. For instance, being able to add a blog to your website is only accessible on a paid plan. For many online marketers, the value is clear.
Yet, if your budget is tight, you might have trouble justifying the cost. The higher-tier plans offer more advanced features, but they come at a higher price. For some, this might be a deal-breaker. Consider the commitment before you dive in.
